Iceland Eruption

Business as usual

Iceland has been grabbing the headlines across the world this last week following a volcanic eruption in the south of the country.

Iceland‘s volcanic past and present are one of the country‘s main attractions. Although much disruption has been caused in Iceland’s neighboring countries, Iceland has emerged virtually unscathed.

Only a relatively small area of southern Iceland has received ash fall, coastal farmlands and the village of Vik.

It’s business as usual and spring is in full swing.

Migrant birds continue to pour into the country. We’re now waiting for the last few migrant species to turn up: Whimbrel, Arctic Tern, Red-necked Phalarope and Red Phalarope.

Iceland just got even more exciting!
